It’s going to fall!
I looked at a gum tree in Ferny Hill Retreat’s front garden the other day only to discover that a massive branch was split and very dangerous. It only needed a bit of wind and it would crash to the ground. Having already had a tree wipe out the front of a previous home I knew I had to take action.
Taking stock
My fabulous gardener, Julinka agreed to take a look around with me. We noticed other trees that needed attention. Eucalypts (aka gum trees) are notorious for dropping large limbs and there are several really big gums here. We took note of the branches that appeared precarious, along with several other plants that needed thinning out and a couple of smaller trees that should be removed. I then called the local arborists.
Gum trees in the rear garden
Then these guys…
Did this…
And this…
And more…
Which resulted which resulted in enough mulch for the entire front and rear gardens. Recycling is a real bonus!
