Ponder these wise words…
“When our mind is peaceful, we are free from worries and mental discomfort, and we experience true happiness. If we train our mind to become peaceful we will be happy all the time, even in the most adverse conditions. But if our mind is not peaceful, then even if we have the most pleasant external conditions we will not be happy. Therefore, it is important to train our mind through meditation.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
About
Kadampa’s drop-in meditation classes are taught by fully qualified Buddhist teachers. Many teachers, but not all, are ordained Monks and Nuns. The lessons are easy to understand and apply to our daily lives. The classes are suitable for adult beginners and more advanced practitioners. They emphasise how to use meditation amidst the busy-ness of modern, daily life.
Each class begins with a simple guided breathing meditation followed by a teaching, then a second guided meditation based on the teaching. There’s also time for questions at the close of each class.
If you feel like staying on afterwards, light refreshments are offered. During this time you have the opportunity to chat with others, including your teacher.
No bookings are required. All welcome.
Tips

Shoes are removed before entering the temple, so wear socks if the weather is chilly.
